Linda Ramrath will be the featured quilter for the 2026 Quiltfest!
Linda Ramrath is a quilter, author, and public speaker whose work blends storytelling, craftsmanship, and creative exploration. Inspired by her grandmother, she began sewing garments in her youth and discovered quilting in 1990, launching a lifelong journey rooted in curiosity and community.
With a background in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, Linda brings a distinctive balance of precision and artistic expression to her quilts. Over time, she transitioned from traditional quilting to art quilting, finding particular joy in free-motion quilting, mixed media, and narrative-driven work that invites viewers to look closely and discover unexpected details.
From 2007 to 2018, Linda owned and operated Inspired Layers, offering trunk shows, pattern design, and instruction. She also produced and hosted the local television program A Quilter’s Touch for six years. Her quilts have received recognition at venues including Billings Farm, the Cheshire Fair, and the Vermont Quilt Festival.
In 2020, Linda authored From Stitches to Smiles. Today, she continues to inspire through Linda Ramrath Speaks and Linda’s Stitch Therapy, celebrating creativity, experimentation, and quilts that make people smile — and say, “I’d like to try that.”
