Pat Harrison will be the featured quilter for the 2024 Quiltfest!
Pat Harrison is a Certified Judge and current Webmaster of the National Association of Certified Quilt Judges as well as having served as President and Candidate and Judge Coordinator of the association. She judges, teaches, and lectures nationally in addition to being an award-winning long-arm quilter, pattern designer, and author. A retired school librarian and teacher, she has won numerous awards for her quilts at major international shows. Pat especially enjoys encouraging quilters of all skill levels to give greater thought to their design process and in so doing, elevating their art and the joy in its creation. As a judge she feels she’s in a unique position to encourage quilters through positive, customized evaluations of their art. Ms. Harrison will be presenting two lectures over the Quiltfest weekend.

Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 – 1 pm
Coloring your Quilts!
A 45-minute Power point lecture that will take you on a journey through amazing photographs of our colorful natural world and show how the color combinations of nature around us can be translated into the coloring of our quilts. The lecture is loaded with visuals of color concepts illustrated with computer designed virtual quilts, charts, and illusions. Quilt as Desired
A 45-minute PowerPoint lecture that explains the quilt design process that I use as I decide what quilting best enhances each of my award- winning quilts and how I go about transferring the design to the quilt top. Thread type and color, batting choices, and additional considerations are also addressed. A “100 Pounds of Award-Winning Quilts” trunk show follows as does a period of questions and answers.
